‘Think tank’ to secure indigenous knowledge
Leshiba established its Centre for Indigenous Knowledge to research, develop and promote the rich culture and heritage of the people of the area. The Centre is a “think tank” to secure indigenous knowledge and emerging technologies in fields as diverse as music, dance, traditional medicine, medicinal plant harvesting, traditional building, agriculture, wood carving, pottery, textiles story-telling, beadwork and permaculture.
Guided walks, game drives, horse trails and mountain biking
Leshiba offers guided walks and game drives as well as adventure horse riding for experienced riders. Leshiba is a hikers paradise. There are 12 well-marked trails to explore the reserve without a guide. Wander freely amongst wildlife which includes rhino and giraffe or bring your mountain bikes and challenge yourself on some of our bush tracks.
Massage therapies
Leshiba offers a range of therapies designed to relax the body, soothe the spirit, improve muscle tone and evoke a feeling of well-being. Our therapists will ease and rejuvenate tired limbs and help calm your mind, creating a natural harmony within.
Solar power, wireless internet and pure drinking water available
We are off the grid! Leshiba is an eco lodge and the property is solar powered. There is wireless internet at the IKC for anyone who needs to stay connected but limited cell phone reception. We have a number of boreholes on the property and the water at Leshiba is great for drinking.
Malaria Free
Leshiba is situated at a high altitude where the malaria carrying mosquito cannot survive. We have had no incidence of malaria and are regarded as a malaria free destination.
